CIPP renovation liners for pressure lines

CIPP (Cured in Place Pipe) technology has been used for renovating gravity sewers for almost 50 years. Using it on a larger scale to repair pressure pipes covers several years. In our country, this last application is only now beginning to break through to the awareness of awarding entities. This year, e.g. in Silesia, the DN200 water section has been renovated and there should be more and more such installations soon.

Large diameters, high pressures – polymers in action

During the presentation, a system based on glass and/or carbon fibre mats impregnated with epoxy resins will be discussed. Originally, it was intended to restore or increase the load capacity of structures like buildings, bridges, silos, chimneys, etc., but industry found a new application for this – it is used to repair pipelines (including discharge pipelines) of all shapes and large diameters.

Liners: requirements and the legitimacy of their use

The contractual requirements for the renovation of non-pressure pipes in CIPP technology will be the subject of the presentation. Entries in tender documents, from which it follows that the material parameters refer to other types of technology, generate a number of problems, in particular, those related to liner testing in relation to non-industry standards. Close cooperation of investors, designers and contracting parties will, however, reduce costs and time, as well as increase the life span of repaired pipelines.

How to correctly design a renovation liner?

For correct and optimal liner design you need precise information about the shape and size of the sewer that needs renovation. During the presentation, the issue of measuring the ovalization of the pipe, one of the hardware options of IBAK devices, will be discussed in detail.

Polyester resins – selected aspects of their use in the renovation of the sewage network

Renovation with resin liners, CIPP, is currently a popular method of maintaining the functionality of sewer networks. The largest group among the resins used for soaking liners are polyester resins and they will be discussed during the paper. These resins are used to soak both synthetic and non-woven fiberglass liners. Their use brings many long-term economic and operational benefits.

Possibility of purchasing advanced technologies in public procurement on the example of CIPP channel renovation

During the lecture, participants will learn about the possibilities offered by the new Public Procurement Law. Although both the current Public Procurement Act and the one that will enter into force on January 1, 2021, are a detailed specification of the same Procurement Directives, the changes are enormous. The very fact that the new law is more than twice as extensive as the previous document raises considerable emotions. The Act introduces many new constructions, but it is equally important that some of the currently operating tools can be interpreted quite differently and will still comply with the relevant Directive.

Dariusz Zwierzchowski

dr. inż. Dariusz Zwierzchowski, Centrum Badań i Certyfikacji sp. z o.o.

Since the 90. an academic teacher and researcher, firstly at Kielce University of Technology, then at Higher Engineering School of Safety and Labor Organization in Radom. Overview of the CIPP market in Poland based on research

The thesis will be put forward during the paper: more and more research is being carried out, which is a good trend. Next, the standards for testing plastics will be discussed, taking into account how many tests are performed and which standard. Statistically, it will show how many samples are obtained – broken down into liner material, type of resin, diameters, wall thickness, expected SN, etc. The author will present statistics on test results, discuss unusual tests – e.g. long-term tests and the first conclusions based on them. Finally, he will summarize the collected data and attempt to evaluate it.
