Flood hazard maps and flood risk maps from the sea side
The expert will present the background to the development of flood hazard maps and flood risk maps (FHM and FRM) from the maritime perspective, including inland marine waters, as well as the legal basis and objectives for their creation. He will discuss the methodology for preparing these studies and the technical aspects of the process. He will also present the results of work carried out for the Maritime Office in Gdynia as part of the third planning cycle, highlighting practical applications of MZP and MRP in assessing flood hazards from the sea and planning protective measures in the dynamically changing coastal zone of the southern Baltic Sea.
Lead Specialist for Forest and Dune Conservation at the Coastal Protection Inspectorate of the Maritime Office in Gdynia. He studied philosophy at the University of Warsaw and forestry at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. Since 2014, he has been working at the Maritime Office in Gdynia, where he is responsible for coastal protection.
