‘Disappearing watercourses’, or the reshaping of the hydrographic network and its hydrological consequences in urbanised areas
The issue under discussion concerns the hydrological and hydraulic consequences associated with the transformation of the hydrographic network in areas undergoing urbanisation. Changes to the river system in selected cities over the last few centuries were analysed.
Research and teaching staff member employed at the Institute of Environmental Engineering at the Wrocław University of Life Sciences. Specialist in hydrology, water management and flood and drought protection. Since 2016, he has served as a key expert in the Oder and Vistula River Basin Flood Protection Project implemented with World Bank funding. He was involved in the development of the Flood Risk Management Plan and its update, acting as manager of the Upper Oder Water Region.
