Wodociągi Miasta Krakowa S.A.

Resilience of the City of Kraków to climate change based on the example of modern implementations at WMK S.A.

Associated with the City of Kraków Waterworks since 2015. He is currently working as Head of Systems Modelling. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Cracow University of Technology. He has systematically gained experience in the water management sector – from contracting to design to implementation projects. He now uses his knowledge effectively, putting into practice modern solutions for hydrodynamic modelling of sewage and water supply networks in Krakow.
The Systems Modelling Department, which he heads, solves a number of problems in the areas of network optimisation, the capacity of collectors, the operation of storm overflows or the interception of rainwater from new catchments. He is also credited with designing an application to standardise the calculation of the active volume of retention basins and drainage networks, which has allowed the company to reduce the time taken to agree project documentation. Currently, the Systems Modelling Department is involved in a project to build a state-of-the-art modelling system for water and sewerage networks in Poland. He is also responsible for creating a real-time – on-line system for the water and sewerage network, with the ability to read fills, flows, pressures in real time and predict upcoming weather events or changes in the operating parameters of the facilities on the network.
