Water Management and Flood Protection

Dear Sirs

On 4-6 September 2024, the 3rd edition of the Congress on Water Management and Flood Protection will be held in Krakow, Poland, which is a continuation and development of the Rainwater and Drainage Management Conference, which has been organised since 2016. The demands made by the Conference participants resulted in the organisation of the Congress, taking into account the importance of rainwater in flood safety management and the need for an integrated and comprehensive approach to both topics. The proposed formula was met with a very positive attitude from the participants. In the post-Congress surveys, they expressed the need for the continuation of the Congress, which animates a multi-faceted discussion, enables the identification of good practices and the sharing of knowledge. They also highlighted the advantages of the venue.

Therefore, it is with all the more pleasure that we invite you to the 3rd edition of the Congress, which will be held in the historic, beautifully restored building of the Bielany Water Treatment Plant, located in the most charming district of Krakow, right next to the Wolski Forest – the green lungs of Krakow. You will be able to enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere of the place, all the more so because we have planned accommodation and the TYTAN 2024 award gala in the Przegorzały Castle and Hotel Forest, located in the heart of the Wolski Forest.

Krakow. 4-6 September 2024. Let’s be together at the 3rd Water Management and Flood Protection Congress.

Participants about the congress

Participation in the event guarantees contact with a whole host of experts professionally involved in various practical aspects of ‘rainwater’ management. It will also provide an opportunity to enjoy the mountainous weather and to exchange views and experiences with industry representatives. Above all, however, it will provide an answer to an important question: how to rationally build a rainwater management system in a constantly changing legal environment, and where to find the source of its financing?

dr Jędrzej Bujny
Kancelaria SMM Legal

The participation of scientists, practitioners, operators of rainwater management systems, as well as local authorities in the ‘Managing Rainwater and Drainage’ Conference is a guarantee that the exchange of experience, discussions, innovative technologies and tools presented will indicate concrete ways of solving the issue of rational rainwater management and the benefits resulting from it.

dr hab. inż. Jadwiga Królikowska, prof. PK
Politechnika Krakowska

The high level of content of the conference, interesting topics concerning, among other things, legal and technical aspects, is an opportunity for participants to broaden their knowledge. It also provides an opportunity to enter the world of new technologies in the field of rainwater management.
The conference is always professionally organised and takes place in an interesting location. Its atmosphere is conducive to backstage discussions and the exchange of experiences with representatives of other companies, scientists and industry experts.

Stanisław Krusz
prezes Katowickich Wodociągów S.A.

The process of handling rainwater and snowmelt, which has been developed and is subject to systematic modification, is not only an important element of the sustainable development of a city, but above all a very important part of the adaptation policy related to the need to adapt to global climate change. In this situation, it seems extremely necessary to create a friendly space for the exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas. Therefore, the organisation of the Conference “Managing Stormwater and Drainage” is an all-round desirable area for such a joint debate.

Paweł Senderek
wiceprezes zarządu Miejskiego Przedsiębiorstwa Wodociągów i Kanalizacji S.A. w Krakowie
