Structural testing of sewer network facilities in practice. On site and in the laboratory
When recognising the technical condition, both during ongoing inspection and during a more detailed assessment related to e.g. expert opinion or design, it is necessary to carry out tests on the structure and its working environment. Some tests are also later part of the acceptance tests after the renovation work has been carried out. Some of the tests are so simple that they can be carried out and the results obtained on site. What is important, however, is to what extent the field conditions influence the correctness of the pull-off test or Schmidt hammer number test, for example, and whether they comply with the requirements of the standards to which they refer. Some of the tests can only be carried out in the laboratory, e.g. testing the compressive strength of concrete or linings, assessment of sulphate contamination or verification of materials by infrared spectra. For these tests, it is crucial to take a representative sample on site.
During the show, the discussion of the above issues will be combined with a live demonstration of field tests, such as the pull-off test, Schmidt hammer, GWT waterproofing test, pH tests, reinforcement detection, resin coating thickness measurement. Specialists will also discuss the interpretation of test results in the context of determining 'compliance with requirements' of, for example, completed works.

Trenchless Construction session
Presentation of information on planned and ongoing activities related to the hydrogen transmission network in the country. The paper will present challenges related both to the construction of new hydrogen transmission infrastructure and to the adaptation of selected parts of the current natural gas transmission network for hydrogen transport. The paper will attempt to analyse the impact of errors in the recognition of soil and water conditions on the risk of drilling operations. Through the presentation of concrete examples, cases will be discussed in which errors in ground recognition led to serious incidents at the execution stage. In addition, the presentation will address the issue of incorrect interpretation of basic geotechnical parameters.Paweł Kośmider

CIPP lining. Quality assurance for sustainable rehabilitation
The presentation will highlight the importance of independent testing in ensuring the quality of CIPP liners as a key component of sustainable infrastructure rehabilitation. The speaker will discuss how rigorous testing of these liners not only ensures their effectiveness and durability, but also contributes to more sustainable rehabilitation practices compared to traditional excavation methods.

Renewable sources in relining - sustainable, fast sewer and water pipe rehabilitation
CIPP technology in itself is a highly sustainable solution for the renovation of sewer and water pipes, minimising the negative impact of the work carried out on the environment and the social surroundings. Whether the installation is carried out using hot water or UV curing technology, for both methods AOC - as the world leader in resins for CIPP - offers a wide range of available resin types, which will be discussed during the presentation. In addition, special emphasis will be placed on new types of recycled PET-based resins (rPET), making the technology even more sustainable.

And the cars are speeding... Renovation of the Riverside collector in Warsaw
Trenchless renovation of a 1600/2000mm sewer over 4.5km long of the combined sewer under Warsaw's main traffic axis at Czerniakowska Street. Many organisational challenges during the design and execution of the works. And above us, the cars are speeding... The public doesn't know what's going on underground, we are wading through the sewage and doing our favourite job - installing GRP pipe modules. The largest renovation contract of recent years in Poland briefly and efficiently shown on the basis of a construction film.

Why it is so important to select the right sleeve for trenchless renovation of drinking water pipelines
SAERTEX multiCom products will be presented, i.e. fibreglass sleeves for the trenchless rehabilitation of sewer lines, gas pipelines and drinking water transport.
CIPP liners have been used in the sewer sector for decades. In recent years, they have been increasingly used in the drinking water sector. Hygienic, durable and safe - GRP pipe liners have to meet the highest quality standards for trenchless renovation of drinking water pipes. After all, they ensure the supply of drinking water for many people. Drinking water pipes must therefore meet requirements far beyond the scope of gravity flow. They must be able to withstand nominal pressures of up to 16 bar over a long period and meet high hygiene standards. After an intensive development phase, SAERTEX multiCom® launched SAERTEX LINER® H2O, the world's first UV-cured GRP liner for trenchless rehabilitation of drinking water pipes, and presented it at IFAT in 2016. This was based on significant changes to existing products and further new developments in the overall liner design, various testing methods and joining technology. After eight years, we enjoy many positive references from all over the world.

Autonomous flying robots in sewer network inspection
The Madrid metropolitan area, home to more than 6 million people, boasts one of the largest sewerage networks in Europe, covering more than 15,000 km of sanitary sewers. Periodic inspections of this vast infrastructure are crucial to minimise water loss, prevent pollution and address structural problems. Traditional inspection methods posed risks and were time-consuming. Wheeled robots were ineffective in large diameter tunnels. Autonomous drones became the ideal solution.
The municipal company Canal de Isabel II, responsible for water circulation in Madrid, used Hovering Solutions' autonomous flying robots for underground inspections. The robots operate without remote control, radio communication, GPS/GNSS or lighting. The drones have inspected hundreds of kilometres of sewers, identifying leaks, connections and providing accurate 3D models for tunnels and pipes over 800mm in diameter. The technology was patented in the third quarter of 2023.
The safety benefits of their use include eliminating the need for staff to enter sewers. The drones capture high-quality data, including 3D georeferenced point clouds, high-resolution panoramic images and a comprehensive damage report. This data facilitates a comprehensive assessment of tunnel condition, cross sections and tracking changes over time. Hovering Solutions provides a web-based 3D visualisation platform for easy access and analysis of the data.

Acceptance testing of CIPP liners - scope of testing and interests of participants/parties in the project
The scope of acceptance testing of CIPP liners (types of testing and their detailing) is not clearly defined. Contractors and investors may advocate the adoption of different sets of tests due to the protection of their interests and the need to optimise costs. To some extent, this also applies to manufacturers of liners and their components. In practice, one may encounter excessive limitation of the scope of acceptance tests, which results in problems in objectively identifying the causes of failed renovation measures and ultimately does not allow remedial measures to be adopted. The presentation will attempt to discuss these issues as a prelude to generating discussion and establishing consensus, which could be the basis for revising the current Polish acceptance guidelines for CIPP liners.
