PANEL DISCUSSION: The Role of an Independent Expert in Mediation – Support for the Parties and the Mediator, or a Source of Further Dispute and Unnecessary Costs?

Legal Counsel; graduate of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin; founder and managing partner of the law firm Ad Casum Dębska Kosmala Paczkowski; member of the Association of Consulting Engineers and Appraisers (SIDiR). He gained his professional experience in the legal departments of leading insurance companies. From 2004 to 2016, he led the litigation practice, and currently heads the infrastructure and public procurement practices. He has provided extensive legal support to contracting authorities and contractors in the implementation of dozens of projects critical to the country’s energy transition. As part of these projects, he supported conflict prevention efforts and managed disputes that arose. He chaired arbitration committees (based on the FIDIC model) and conducted numerous negotiations and civil proceedings concerning energy, road, and rail infrastructure.
