He graduated from Brussels in 1988. He began his professional career in the tunneling and construction industry, working for Smet-Tunnelling in Belgium until 1998 and for Heijmans Belgium from 1988 to 2003 during a period of acquisitions and mergers. From 2003 to 2022, he was a director at Ways & Freytag Ingenieurbau, where he was responsible for the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, and France. Since 2022, he has been a member of the management team for the Oosterweel Lot 3B project. He has been a member of the board of the Belgian Tunnelling Association since 2008 and has served as its president since 2016. Since 2024, he has also been a member of the ITA Executive Board (ex officio in 2024, full member since 2025).
