He obtained his PhD in technical sciences in 2004 and his postdoctoral degree in 2022. Since March 2023, he has been employed as an associate professor at the Department of Geotechnics and Roads at the Silesian University of Technology. Since September 2024, he has been the Vice-Dean for Infrastructure and Organization at the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
His scientific work focuses on modeling soil behavior under complex loads, with particular emphasis on dynamic interactions. His research interests also include issues related to the reinforcement of weak soils, the foundation of structures in difficult soil conditions, the analysis of the interaction between structures and the ground, and the stability of slopes and embankments.
He is the author of 100 publications in domestic and foreign journals. He has supervised one doctoral student and served as an assistant supervisor in two other successfully completed doctoral dissertations.
Since 2001, he has been a member of the Polish Geotechnical Committee. He has held many positions in the Silesian Branch, including its chairmanship from 2011 to 2017. He currently serves as the branch secretary. He has participated in the work of organizing committees for several national conferences and symposia, including two National Conferences on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering.
Since 2018, he has held unlimited building qualifications for designing and managing construction works in the field of construction and building. He is the author of a total of approx. 350 designs, opinions, analyses, and expert reports.
