A successful completion of HDD drilling works requires good preparation at the stage of work planning. The formations being drilled affect both the parameters of borehole wall stability, and parameters of the drilling fluids. Well selected geotechnical and geological tests at the design stage enable optimisation of the progress of drilling works and reduce the risk of failure at the working phase.
