Within the presentation, on the background of applied strategies for sewers technical rehabilitation, the strategy based on monitoring and prediction will be presented. In this strategy the so-called “survival functions” are used, created on the base on probability distribution of sewers damages. This approach provides practical tools aimed at planning of activities on pipelines and summarizes the results of years of network research and resulting databases (e.g. about the technical condition of sewers). It is so proposal to indicate far-reaching purposes of introduce the control programs and conducting of repeated sewer’s inspections. The cases of this approach in relation to literature will be presented, along with the attempt of critical analysis.
