Marcin Firkowski, PPI Chrobok S.A.

Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas at the AGH University of Science and Technology graduate. He gained professional experience during the internship on a drilling platform on the Baltic Sea and at the Saint Petersburg in Russia. He has been with the PPI Chrobok S.A. company since 2014 r., first as a drilling fluids engineer, then as a site manager during the execution of the Direct Pipe crossing for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline. Currently he deals with quotations, planning and feasibility studies for new national and international trenchless projects, as well as with managing projects.

The experiences of PPI CHROBOK S.A. gained from Direct Pipe pipelines installations

Direct Pipe technology is one of the currently developing drilling technologies that enables trenchless construction of transmission pipelines. It gains more and more popularity, and the number of designed crossings increases every year. The speaker will present the company’s experience gained while deploying all of the Direct Pipe crossings so far (in 2016-2019). The installations were deployed in various ground conditions on lengths from 300 to 700 m and diameters of 1000 and 1200 mm. Speaker will also show the possibilites available thanks to this technology.
