Skibniewski"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Automation and Robotics in Construction and Underground Infrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>A graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology and Carnegie Mellon University (USA), a professor of civil engineering at the University of Maryland, and former provost of Purdue University in Indiana (USA).<\/em><br \/>\n<em>He is the author and co-author of over 400 scientific publications on the application of modern solutions in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence in the construction industry. He has supervised over 40 doctoral candidates in engineering. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>From 1994 to 2024, he served as editor-in-chief of the journal *Automation in Construction* (Impact Factor 11.5\u2014the highest in the field of civil engineering). He is also co-editor-in-chief of the journal *Engineering Management*. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>He has served as a consultant to construction companies and research and development institutes in the United States, Japan, Argentina, Chile, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan. From 2010 to 2011, he served as the founding dean of the College of Engineering at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi (UAE). <\/em><br \/>\n<em>Author of monographs including *Artificial Intelligence in Construction Engineering and Management*, *Intelligent Construction in Tunnels*, and *Digital Transformation in the Construction Industry*.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>He has received numerous awards for his scientific and professional achievements, including the American Society of Civil Engineers Walter L.
